Welcome to the TVNZ 7 Internet Debate in association with InternetNZ.
You can open a live chat window and choose from a variety of video streaming options.

At 9.10pm we’ll kick off the polling for the evening, with two ways of voting. You can send an SMS message containing A for Labour, B for National, C for Act, or D for Green Party from your cellphone to 881 at a cost of 50c (ask the bill-payer first) and/or vote on the web below.
In what we believe is a first for New Zealand, the results below will automatically total both forms of voting - cheers to Lateral Profiles for putting this system together at short notice.

InternetNZ is proud to announce an organised debate on ICT issues, streamed to this website and TVNZ 7’s site, and broadcast on TVNZ 7. This will begin at 9.10pm on the evening of September 23 live from Avalon Studios.

The TVNZ 7 Internet Debate, in association with InternetNZ involves four politicians quizzed on major areas of ICT policy with questions coming from you through the online chat, a studio audience, and experienced journalists.

The politicians are Labour’s Minister of Communications Hon David Cunliffe, National ICT Spokesperson Hon Maurice Williamson, ACT Leader Rodney Hide and Greens ICT Spokesperson Metiria Turei.

UPDATE: Experienced journalist Damian Christie will moderate the debate (replacing Sean Plunket), with questions posed by two other well known journalists Fran O’Sullivan and Russell Brown.

This website provides a key way for you to take part in the debate watching the video streaming and using the live chat facilities. Or you can use Windows Media Player and your own IRC chat client.
